Some people love this city and can spend an entire vacation in just this spot. We are not those people. We found Puerto Morelos to be lacking and our Airbnb wasn’t in a beautiful beachside location as we had thought. This may have left a little extra negative taste for us.

However, there just isn’t much to see here. If you are interested in simply sitting on the beach, this is perfect. There was much less seaweed here than Playa or Cancun during our stay. However, that can vary. It was difficult to find street food here, which is our favorite way to eat in Mexico, so that was a disappointment. We were able to find some good birria tacos. We also ate at a beautiful restaurant on the water, Muelle Once.

Based on our few days in this town, we would recommend checking out that restaurant for seafood or a delicious freshly made pizza. We also recommend checking out some cenotes along with Ruta de Cenotes. We also did a fun excursion day at Extreme Adventures, which is actually located in Puerto Morelos (not Cancun).
